My boss’s birthday was yesterday. She was at an event on Monday, so I had the perfect opportunity to surprise her and decorate her office a bit for her Tuesday morning arrival. It didn’t take long to set up (for those of you who are thinking that I wasn’t working!), I did all of the pre-work this past weekend.
I actually had leftover fabric and homemade fabric pom-poms (for a future post) from the camper. So I guess you could say this is a sneak peak at the camper colors I’m using as well! Baby blue, teal blue, yellow, and coral…with some whimsical birds and animals thrown in for my kiddos!
Anyhow, this is an easy-breezy project. I actually just did a similar thing for Nolan’s Star Wars birthday party (another future post, boy I’m behind!). I simply cut little triangles with my sheering scissors so that I didn’t have to sew. Then I hot-glued ribbon to the top of the fabric to hang them together. I found a cute font online and printed ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANCY’ out on label paper. Then simply cut out and stuck on each triangle. On the edges, I added some of my little fabric pom-poms and extra ribbon.
I covered her desk in flowers. I bought Mason Jars at Michaels in various sizes at 50% off. I also bought some Stop and Shop (I’m cheap) flowers and made my own bouquets. They turned out great. I added a little ribbon flare and more pom-poms. Then with some hot glue, wrapped some recycled bamboo sticks in ribbon and stuck more pom-poms to the top.
And no, I’m not sucking up. Or am I? LOL.
